Didactics

Our fellows have protected didactic time every Wednesday morning. This time coincides with and includes our Departmental Grand Rounds. The remainder of the time is allocated for the REI curriculum.

This curriculum is based on ABOG’s REI Blueprint and ACGME core competencies. It consists of an assortment of lectures and Journal Clubs.

Additionally, once every two months, we have Division Research meetings to discuss ongoing projects, brainstorm new projects, meet with our faculty mentors, and have multidisciplinary endocrine conferences with medical and pediatric endocrine, Genetics, and adolescent Gynecology faculties. In addition to the regular Wednesday morning curriculum outlined above, we have several other special scheduled didactic sessions, which include:

  • Joint sessions with US Fertility Network Fellowships (NIH, Colorado, Norfolk). This includes a structured didactic session on most Tuesday afternoons (3 pm) with fellows and faculties from all fellowship programs, monthly clinical meetings, and Journal Clubs with all US Fertility Network Physicians across the country.
  • Research Seminar: Led by our epidemiologists, this is a series of lectures (Biostats, Study Design, etc.) and live tutorials for learning statistical software (SAS, SPSS, STATA) to prepare our fellows for successful thesis design and defense.
