The infectious disease doctors at USF Health offer consultation, inpatient and outpatient diagnosis and treatment for acute and chronic infectious diseases in infants, children and youth. Specialists manage a broad spectrum of conditions including congenital infections, hepatitis, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and infections in immunocompromised hosts. Our team also provides community referrals and acute and long-term management of antibiotic therapy for children with infections following hospital discharge. Providers develop a health care plan and offer on-going communication to address your concerns in a timely manner.

With the support of the community, USF Health has become a regional center of excellence for HIV care, serving 11 counties with a total population of over 3.5 million people. USF Health is the only provider of comprehensive HIV care to children and adolescents in West Central and Southwest Florida. Providers are dedicated to improving the health and lives of infected children by offering excellent medical care, access to clinical trials, psychosocial support and education. Pre and Post-exposure prophylaxis and sexual transmitted infection screening and treatment is provided to high risk youth at the Ybor Youth Clinic location.

The Pediatric Infectious Disease group at USF Health provides comprehensive and compassionate care with 24-hour on-call services and intensive medical case management services. Services include consultation and follow-up care at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Tampa General Hospital.
