Hematology

Our team of Hematology physicians at USF Health provide state-of-the-art care to our patients with blood-related disorders and cancer.  Whether you are a patient in pursuit of additional knowledge of your condition, looking for a second opinion, or seeking a highly skilled provider who is part of this region’s only academic medical center, USF Health has the expertise to fit your needs.

Our experienced health care team serves the community in caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, solid tumors, non-malignant hematology, cancer late effects and survivorship as well as patients with hematological disorders and coagulation diseases.

Hematology conditions include anemias, sickle cell disease, Thalassemia, white cell disorders such as neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and other platelet disorders. For diseases of coagulation, such as hemophilia, we provide care to patients with von will brand’s disease and other bleeding disorders including hyper coagulation state.

Hemophilia Program 

USF Health’s Adult Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center – one of few in the U.S.

We provide specialized care for adult patients with bleeding disorders, including Hemophilia A and B, Von Willebrands disease, and other hematological disorders. Our multidisciplinary team of hematologists, infectious disease doctors, nurse specialists, physical therapists, and social workers work closely together as an integral part of the comprehensive hemophilia treatment clinic at USF Health.

Our services range from medical treatment, counseling and support, to pharmacy services. The Adult Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center’s 340B Program at USF Health provides a clotting factor related pharmacy that provides clotting factor prescriptions to patients at significantly reduced prices.

We also provide ongoing support for our patients and their families through educational and support activities outside of the clinic. A 21st Century Bleeding Disorder Social Group supports patients with bleeding disorders who face challenges managing their condition.
