MCOM Collegia

Student Leadership

The nine Collegia seals

Collegia President

I am a CORE MSII Student from Port Saint Lucie, Florida. I graduated with a BA from Dartmouth College where I majored in Psychology and minored in Theater. Outside of Collegia, I am the President of the MCOM Cardiology Interest Group, Research Chair for the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), and a Teaching Liaison for Project Hillsborough Health. At the moment, I’m interested in either pursuing Cardiology or Gastroenterology. In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching sports and going to trivia nights at local bars.

Collegia Director

I’m a Michigan-born CORE student from Cleveland, Ohio, who graduated from UCF with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. I am currently interested in emergency medicine. In my free time, I can be seen on the couch watching sports as a massive Michigan/Detroit sports fan, hosting social events at the house, or attempting not to spill some fresh, home-brewed beer. Additionally, I love a good book, and try to run as much as I can, although the Florida heat makes it hard sometimes.

Collegia Events Director

I grew up in Gainesville, Florida, and attended college at the University of Florida. I majored in chemistry (emphasis in biochemistry) and Spanish. Afterward, I was a post-baccalaureate trainee at the National Institute on Aging in Baltimore, Maryland, for two years before starting medical school. I am interested in aging and am considering geriatrics. In my free time, I lift weights, play chess, and do racquet sports, including tennis and ping pong.

Collegia Treasurer

Hi! I am from Boston, MA and did my undergrad at Tulane University in New Orleans, where I majored in neuroscience & psychology. I love the brain, so I hope to specialize in Neurology! In my free time, I enjoy the sunshine and being outside, so I love running along Bayshore and going to sporting events. I am a big foodie (and a Yelp Elite!) so I am always happy to provide any restaurant or bar recommendations.

Chair, Bourne

I am a SELECT student who grew up in New Jersey and I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Maryland. I am also involved in leading the Advocacy for Survivors and Women in Surgery student organizations, and I am a proud member of MCOM's intramural soccer team! Moving to Florida has given me many more opportunities to do the things I love, like running outdoors, reading on the beach, and cooking food from my garden!

Chair, Galen

Hi everyone! I was born in Irvine, CA, and moved to Los Angeles, CA to study Human Biology at the University of Southern California. My current specialty interests are Dermatology and Cutaneous Oncology. Outside of school, I enjoy working out, watching movies, and going to the beach.

Chair, Debakey

Hi everyone! My name is Lindsey Blacher, and I’m a second-year medical student in the Core program. I’m from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and earned my undergraduate degree in Genomics & Computational Biology from Washington University in St. Louis. I’m happy to trade the cold midwest winters for sunny Florida weather. I’ve been figure skating since I was a kid and competed for my school in college. I love dogs, trying new restaurants, and shopping. My career interests are currently OB/GYN, emergency medicine, and pediatrics.

Chair, Farmer

I am from Orlando, Florida and I graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in biomedical engineering. I spent a year as an ED scribe before starting medical school. When I’m not at MCOM, I enjoy yoga, beach trips, and eating out with my friends. Otherwise, you can find me at home reading or watching TV with my cat.

Chair, Paracelsus

I am an MSII SELECT student from Souderton, Pennsylvania who studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Ursinus College with minors in Neuroscience, Economics, and German. I am also the treasurer for Interdisciplinary Oncology Interest Group, an Outreach Chair for Emergency Medicine Interest Group, and a cardiothoracic oncology student researcher. I have played piano and viola from a young age and enjoy spending time with friends while exploring everything Tampa has to offer. I am excited to return to LVHN after having worked there during college and to be near family- but I will always hold a special place for Tampa and the Paracelsus Collegium.

Chair, Koch

Hi, I'm an MS2 in SELECT from Canton, Michigan. I graduated from Johns Hopkins, where I studied public health and economics. I love exploring new cities through the culture, running, and working my way through my coffee shop list. I love music and have loved experiencing the local music scene in Tampa and have recently begun learning the guitar myself after many years attempting vocals, saxophone, and piano. I also love cooking vegetarian/vegan food. I look forward to meeting all the first years in Koch and bringing the Collegia trophy home.

Chair, Hippocrates

My name is Enrique Trevino and I am a current MSII in the CORE Program. I grew up in Wesley Chapel, FL (just a little north of Tampa) and went to the University of Florida where I majored in Biological Sciences. My current specialty interests are Sports Medicine, Family Practice, and Internal Medicine. I love to spend my free time watching sports (baseball, especially!), binging Netflix/Hulu/Disney Plus/Max shows (please give recommendations), and being active either in the gym or playing intramurals/sports for funsies. I look forward to being your Hippocrates Chair!

Chair, Lower

I am a SELECT student who grew up just outside of New York City in northern New Jersey. I received a BA in biology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I also rowed crew while in college. During my 2 gap years before medical school, I worked as a medical scribe in New Jersey while racing triathlons and competed at the Ironman World Championships a couple months before starting at MCOM. At MCOM, I am the research chair for the class of 2026, one of the treasurers of the Surgical Outcomes Research Team (SORT) and the vice president of the plastic surgery interest group. In my free time, I enjoy watching sports (especially football), playing golf, running, and watching movies/TV. I hope to pursue a career in a surgical specialty.

Chair, Osler

Hi everyone! I'm from Brewster, NY and I got my BS in Materials Science and Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, where I competed in track and fencing. I took 3 gap years where I worked in biotech, academic research, scribing, and caregiving. The specialties I am interested in are orthopaedics, PM&R, and OBGYN. My hobbies include hanging out with my dog, lifting, and eating good food. I'm so happy to represent Osler as collegia chair and can't wait to make it a great year!
