Biography

Dr. Carris is an Associate Professor (tenured) at the USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy. He is Vice-Chair of the Department of Pharmacotherapeutics and Clinical Research and Director of the Division of Ambulatory Care. Dr. Carris completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Florida and subsequently completed a PGY1 residency in Pharmacy Practice at TriStar Centennial Medical Center and a 2-year fellowship in Family Medicine at the University of Florida. He has extensive experience in various pharmacy service lines, including hospitals, transitions of care, community pharmacies, and primary care offices. Over the past several years, his practice has predominantly focused on polypharmacy, medication adherence, and deprescribing.
