Committees
-
The Education Committee provides faculty and the College with a formal structure to guide all education-related aspects of the College of Public Health, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.
The Committee is composed of faculty, with at least one voting representative from each COPH department and program. Membership may be adjusted based on the College's needs. Voting members, elected by their department or concentration leads for two-year terms (up to three consecutive terms), must have substantial curriculum experience and designate an alternate to serve in their absence. Alternates also act as liaisons to the Office of Educational Technology and Assessment.
-
The Faculty Affairs Committee develops and oversees procedures and programs that support faculty in achieving their professional goals while advancing the College's mission and strategic priorities.
Membership is structured to ensure broad representation across the College's three primary faculty pathways (Research, Teaching, and Practice) and academic ranks. The committee consists of 9–15 members serving staggered three-year terms, limited to two consecutive terms. Faculty in student status and academic administrators are excluded from membership.
-
The Research Committee ensures a vibrant and impactful research portfolio that aligns with faculty expertise, student interests, and community needs. The committee promotes faculty and student success, engages communities in translating research into action, enhances the College's reputation, and advances the field of public health.
The committee includes nine voting members—one senior faculty member (Associate or Full Professor) from each department and four at-large members—with the chair elected from among the senior faculty members. Up to five non-voting ex-officio members may also participate, including postdoctoral fellows, research associates, graduate students, and research administration staff.
-
The Executive Committee advises the Dean and coordinates College-wide activities in alignment with the strategic plan. Responsibilities include strategic planning, management of academic programs, budget allocations, faculty recruitment and assignments, faculty development, course scheduling, space and equipment allocation, and staffing decisions.
Membership includes the President of the Faculty Assembly, chairs of Faculty Assembly standing committees, Department Chairs, and additional members as appointed by the Dean.
