Every day members of the COPH community work tirelessly to raise the health of the population in Tampa and around the world. From improving pregnancy outcomes to fighting malaria, the COPH has accomplished much in its first 30 years.     Sam Bell Endowed Scholarship for Public Health Policy
    To offer scholarships to full-time graduate students, pursing all majors in the College of Public Health. This scholarship should  be awarded 1 semesters. Preference for a student who is focusing on and/or researching Public Health Policy. 546008
    Jean E. and Philip T. Amuso Global Health Scholarship
    To offer scholarships to full-time graduate students pursuing a graduate degree focused on Global Health, in the College of Public Health. The scholarship should be awarded 1 semester and is for students pursuing degrees in the concentrations of Global Communicable Disease, Genomics and in the DRPH (Doctor of Public Health)concentration of Public Health and Clinical Laboratory Science and Practice, with the focus of their training on laboratory-based training.

    Ynonne and Max Salfinger Public Health Scholarship
    To support scholarships for graduate students in the USF College of Public Health pursuing a DrPH (Doctor of Public Health) concentration in Public Health and Clinical Laboratory Science and Practice, with the focus of their training on laboratory-based training.  To be awarded for one semester.  If no applications are received or there are no eligible applicants. In that case, an award may be given to a part-time or full-time graduate student working in a public health laboratory pursuing a Master of Public Health or a Master of Science in Public Health at the College of Public Health.

    Greg Alexander Scholarship in Maternal and Child Health
    The scholarship will be awarded to PhD or DrPH candidates in any department within the College of Public Health with demonstrable interest in the fields of maternal and child health or perinatal epidemiology. Preference will be given to candidates who plan to focus their doctoral research in these areas and who intend to work in the field of maternal and child health, in any setting, post graduation. The selection of scholarship recipients will be based on merit, as determined by the College of Public Health Financial Aid Office.

    Thomas R. Unnasch Tropical & Global Health Student Endowment
    The Thomas R. Unnasch Tropical and Global Health Student Fund will provide support for the education and research activities of students enrolled in the Bachelor's of Public Health degree who are interested in tropical or global health.  Expenses may include but are not limited to: travel, conference and other educational fees for academic professional development, continuing education, scholarships, printing, design, production, equipment and supplies related to research, and other expenses that support these efforts. If scholarships are awarded, the criteria will be full or part-time undergraduate student, pursuing all majors, in the College of Public Health, on all campuses. The scholarship can be awarded 1 semester and is for students who are interested in tropical or global health.

    COPH Advisory Board Fund to Enhance UG Student Success
    To support and enhance undergraduate education for students who choose to pursue a degree in Public Health. Expenses will support the BSPH degree program, travel (such as to conferences and service projects), study abroad, scholarships and miscellaneous expenses. The scholarship criteria are: full or part-time undergraduate students, pursuing a BS in Public Health, in the College of Public Health, on the Tampa campus. This scholarship is based on merit and is renewable up to 8 semesters. 540025
    William M Sappenfield Scholarship in Maternal & Child Health
    This fund is being started in honor of  Dr. William M. Sappenfield. (Once presented with this fund at his retirement in September 2023, he will have the opportunity to update the name and the scholarship criteria.) It is the donor's intent that the fund grow to endowment level through future gifts made by the donor and other fundraising efforts of the university. In order to grow the balance of the fund, awards may or may not be made in any given year at the discretion of the dean of the College of Public Health or their designee. If the fund reaches the minimum endowment level it may be converted to an endowment at the discretion of the dean of the College of Public Health or their designee.

    Russell S. Kirby Scholarship in Maternal and Child Health
    To offer scholarships to full-time graduate students, in all colleges, on all campuses. This scholarship can be awarded 2 semesters. The student must have a professional or research interest in maternal and child health, but need not be in a maternal and child health academic concentration. It is the donor's intent that the fund grow to endowment level through future gifts made by the donor and other fundraising efforts of the university.  In order to grow the balance of the fund, awards may or may not be made in any given year at the discretion of the dean of the College of Public Health or their designee.     The Rita G. Bruce Memorial Scholarship
    The Rita G. Bruce Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time College of Public Health graduate student, on the Tampa campus, who has over the course of their academic career at USF displayed outstanding academic achievement, commitment to the field of public health through their involvement in community outreach, research, and/or educational programs, and demonstrated leadership within the USF College of Public Health.  Resources from this fund will be used to provide scholarships to College of Public Health students at least annually, as well as for other activities that support students.

    Carol A. Bryant Social Marketing Scholarship
    To provide scholarships to full or part-time graduate students in the College of Public Health, on the Tampa campus, working on any degree or certificate who has shown outstanding academic achievement and leadership within social marketing.

    Community Health Management Scholarship
    To provide a scholarship for a full or part-time graduate student pursing a Masters in Public Health with concentration in Healthcare Organizations (MPH) or a Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA), in the College of Public Health on all campuses. This scholarship will be awarded one semester, and is for a student with an interest in working at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) post-graduation and will be expected to write apersonal statement describing this intent.

    To offer scholarships to full or part-time graduate students, pursuing a Master of Health Administration (MHA), in the College of Public Health, on the Tampa campus. This scholarship is based on merit, can be awarded 1 semester and is for MHA students with demonstrated leadership and academic performance with an annual minimum award of $500.

    Lisa DeSafey Jaap Award
    To support College of Public Health students doing research in the area of developing more effective communication and interaction skills of health professionals, incorporating empathy and a holistic approach to improved health. It is expected that the recipient will use the funds to conduct research with the goal of presenting findings at professional meetings, and publishing results in peer-reviewed journals. $500 dollars will be awarded each year from this fund.

    To support The Lawton Rhea Childs Center's mission which is to research and develop nationwide approaches to improving the health of mothers and babies. To develop leadership skills in maternal and child health professionals nationwide. An award for the best research paper on maternal and child health issues is available based on a competitive submission of papers for consideration and reviewed by a college committee of faculty members.

    Salud Latina Fund To provide financial support for education, research and training for the Salud Latina program which addresses health disparities among Spanish-speaking communities.  Expenses may include, but are not limited to, equipment, computer hardware and software, marketing and social media expenses, travel, costs associated with attending conferences and seminars, training, and training events for professional colleagues, students and staff, graduate student salary and tuition support. If funds are sufficient, scholarships to support full or part-time graduate students pursuing all majors, in the College of Public Health on all campuses with a preference for students of Hispanic or Latino descent.
