The University of South Florida College of Public Health (COPH) offers four undergraduate majors designed to give students the education they need to succeed in the ever-expanding range of health-related professions.

Bachelor of Science in Public Health

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health provides students with a flexible degree emphasizing skill development to promote future academic and career success within public health and clinical health professions. Students can pursue specialized coursework in pre-health, epidemiology, biostatistics, food safety, infection control, nutrition, global health, environmental and occupational health, and health coaching, among others. This innovative curriculum can be completed either fully online or through a mix of online and classroom-based courses.

Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences is designed for students interested the health care industry and the allied health professions. With a flexible curriculum, students take foundational courses in Health Sciences then choose to focus their studies in one of five concentrations: biological health sciences, social and behavioral health sciences, healthcare simulation science, health care administration or health information technology based on their career goals and interests.

Bachelor of Science in Health and Nutrition Science

The Bachelor of Science in Health and Nutrition Science is designed for students interested in the scientific principles of nutrition and their application in health promotion and disease prevention. Whether students aim to become registered dietitian nutritionists or pursue other careers in food and nutrition, the health and nutrition science major provides a strong foundation. In addition, the program’s emphasis on science offers excellent preparation for graduate study in fields such as physician assistant, physical therapy, medical school, and more.

Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Rehabilitation Science

The Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Rehabilitation Science is designed for students interested in rehabilitation and physical well-being. This program provides a strong science foundation with coursework focused on the clinical aspects of helping individuals recover from injury, illness, or disability. Students gain interdisciplinary skills to support movement, health, and quality of life, preparing them for careers in healthcare settings or for graduate study in physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, and related fields. Graduates are also equipped for entry-level roles such as physical or occupational therapy aides, health education specialists, or positions in medical equipment sales.
