John D. McCormick, MD, FACP, FAAP

Dr. McCormick joined the USF faculty in 2008 after six years in private practice. In addition to being a medical doctor, Dr. McCormick is a registered pharmacist, having majored in pharmacy as an undergraduate student where he graduated at the top of his class. Subsequently, he completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at USF, including a year as chief resident. Dr. McCormick is a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and with the American College of Physicians (FACP).
Dr. McCormick has received several awards for his teaching and clinical skills. He is currently the Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Training Program at USF, where he is actively engaged in training residents and medical students.
Nathan Brinn, MD

Dr. Brinn earned his BS, with Phi Beta Kappa honors, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and he graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2001. He completed his residency in internal medicine/pediatrics at the University Health Systems of Eastern North Carolina, where he served as chief resident, graduating as the Med-Peds Resident of the Year in 2005. He joined the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 2006 where he served as Chief of Division of Med/Peds, Clinical Director of Howell’s Hospital for Chronic Children, and Director of the Med-Peds residency program. Dr. Brinn has received several teaching awards during his career. He is board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. He has special interests in the care of patients with chronic disease, transitioning children with complex conditions and special health care needs into adulthood, and med-peds resident education.
Hugo Narvarte, MD

Dr. Hugo Narvarte completed his undergraduate training at Duke University in 1996, and obtained his MD degree from the University of South Florida in 2000. He then moved to Houston, Texas for residency training in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. He moved back to Tampa and joined the USF faculty in 2005. His patient care interests include primary care in both general pediatrics and general internal medicine.
Elimarys Perez-Colon, MD

Dr. Perez-Colon was born and raised in Villalba, Puerto Rico. She obtained her degree of doctor in medicine at the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico in 2009. She completed her combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency at the University of South Florida in 2013 and is board certified on both. Her main passions are global health and disparities. She has involved with multiple projects internationally in Nicaragua, Panamá, Haiti and Dominican Republic as well as locally in the Tampa Bay area. She is also an avid traveler and loves photography.
