Med-Peds Residency Interns 2020

Residency Program

Welcome to the Internal Medicine & Pediatrics (Med-Peds) residency program website!

Our program is a wonderful balance of two excellent departments. The Department of Pediatrics is #3 in the nation in NIH research funds and provides outstanding clinical training at John Hopkins All Children's Hospital - a dedicated children's hospital and regional referral center. The Department of Internal Medicine provides rotations through a general county hospital, one of the busiest Veterans hospitals in the United States, and Moffitt Cancer Center - a premier center cited as one of the top ten in the U.S. We also have an extensive array of outpatient clinic opportunities as well as a new Med-Peds continuity clinic. Both of those departments are focused on resident education - through our teaching rounds, journal club, morning report conference, noon lectures, board review sessions, and much more.

One of the best aspect of our program are our Med-Peds residents. Our tight knit group is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, dedicated, and hard-working. They are viewed by their categorical colleagues as an asset because of the unique view they bring to patient care. Through rotations in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, our residents receive education and training that prepares them for whatever careers they choose to pursue. Our past graduates have chosen an array of primary care, hospitalist, and fellowship positions, and we constantly strive to train physicians equipped for any style of practice.

In addition, we are very excited to offer a new Global Health rotation! Our Med-Peds program is the first residency program at USF to affiliate with CES University's Pediatric Residency Program in Medellin, Colombia. Residents will have the opportunity to learn about different pathologies such as Infectious Diseases, and Tropical Diseases such as Dengue, Malaria, Zika, etc.

I hope you spend some time looking at all of the wonderful opportunities that the University of South Florida has to offer. Please feel free to contact our program team with any questions.
