  • Attend specialty panel and information group sessions
  • Compare your self assessment information to the information you've gathered about specialties; Narrow your interests to 3–4 top choices
  • Plan your third-year schedule
  • Prepare and take USMLE Step 1
  • Conduct informational interviews or participate in preceptorships
  • Contact associations and specialty organizations

  • Complete "Understanding Yourself" self-assessment activities in CiM

August/September

  • Workshop on Preparation for USMLE Step 1 – Dr. O'Callaghan

  • Follow up Meetings for USMLE Step 1 with Dr. O'Callaghan
  • Individual Collegium Director Meetings:
    • Have print out from ePortfolio and review
    • Review Personal Profile from CiM web site and MBTI results
    • Examine progress academically and fit for residency specialties
  • Career Exploration Programs:
    • Brown bag lunches
    • Specialty panels with residents and alumni

  • Associate Dean for Student Affairs - Year 3 scheduling meeting
