The Annual RISE Student Symposium was established to showcase medical student successes via oral presentations and provide a platform to illustrate the benefits of lifelong scholarship. This is a well-attended event by MCOM faculty, USF leadership and students.  

The 16th Annual RISE Student Symposium will be held virtually on Friday, November 7th, 2025

All medical students who were funded for scholarly work in the summer between years 1 and 2 are required to submit an abstract of their outcomes at the USF Health Research Day held in the spring. Selected students are invited to deliver an oral presentation based on their abstract submission. Poster presentations are judged in a variety of categories for awards.
