Endocrine Day Hospital

The USF Diabetes and Endocrinology Endocrine Day Hospital (EDH) provides patients education, treatment, standardized outpatient testing, and imaging for a wide range of endocrine conditions and metabolic bone diseases including endocrine hormone deficiencies and hormone overproductive disorders. The EDH care team is highly skilled in performance of these tests and interpretation of the results. The comprehensive teaching and therapeutic process includes:

    • Safety education
    • Condition/s specific education
    • Teaching on self-administered medication injections, including but not limited to:
    • Standardized test protocols for hypo- and hypersecretion of endocrine hormones
    • Performance of some tests in outpatient settings as opposed to inpatient
    • Convenient scheduling and comfortable environment
    • DXA
    • REMS

Scheduling

The EDH hours are Mon-Tue from 8 am to 4 pm.

A large, free parking lot is available in front of the building.

The patient will be scheduled for the procedure or teaching after the insurance approval is received. The EDH care team will reach the patient to schedule an appointment. 

Recommendations for Tests and Procedures

  1. Patient Education on adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) stimulation test and instructions on how to prepare for this test.
  2. Be sure to dress warmly in layers due to the cold environment in the clinic.
  3. Based on the time planned for your procedure and to make your waiting time more enjoyable, please feel free to bring your phone, tablet and/or reading material.
Referral is required to be seen at the Endocrine Day Hospital (EDH).
