PhD in Public Health with a Concentration in Biostatistics
The PhD in Biostatistics program aims to provide advanced training and research opportunities in biostatistical methods and applications including medicine, biology and public health. The program prepares students for a career as methodologists in academia, government, industries and health care organizations, and allows them to gain experience designing studies, analyzing data, evaluating new interventions, determining risk factors for diseases, regulating environmental hazards, and protecting food and drug safety.
Skills taught are utilized in a wide spectrum of fields, including epidemiology, mental health services, environmental health, clinical trials and health services research. With a curriculum that is both interdisciplinary and adaptive to individual student needs and interests, the program prepares students for a career as a methodologist in academia, government, industries and health care organizations.
