In Her Own Words: “When applying to PGY2 programs, I really wanted to find a program that could provide new experiences to help further my clinical proficiency in the ambulatory care space. I was also looking for a team that holds resident well-being as a high priority and that fosters a positive and supportive learning environment. On paper I knew this program had electives and learning experiences that would help me grow, but it was during my interview when I truly saw how amazing this team is. I already felt so welcomed, supported, and cared for and knew that this program would be a perfect fit.”
About Amy: Amy was born and raised in Carmel, Indiana and in high school her passion for science, specifically chemistry, developed. As a junior she was invited to participate in a women’s STEM conference “Think Like A Girl” where different career paths including pharmacy were showcased. This conference in addition to various shadowing opportunities really sparked her interest in pharmacy as a career. Amy has also been very passionate about lifestyle modifications since she was little. Growing up, Amy listened to her mom in the other room working as a health coach from home counseling patients on lifestyle changes and working with them to create attainable patient-specific goals of care. Later into college, she had the opportunity to shadow a handful of ambulatory care pharmacists, and quickly realized that she found a job that was the perfect marriage of her two greatest passions, pharmacy and lifestyle. Her special interests include Behavioral Health, Diabetes Management, Women’s Health, and Weight Management. In her free time, Amy likes to spend time with her family and friends, stay active by going on walks or indoor cycling, going to the beach, and binge-watching reality TV.
