Refractive Surgery and LASIK

Innovative Procedures

If you have wear glasses for myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), have astigmatism or have a combination of these conditions, refractive surgery maybe an option for you. The most well-known refractive surgery is LASIK, which is intended to reduce reliance on glasses and contact lenses. This innovate technique treats vision problems by using a laser to reshape the cornea.

Recovery from LASIK is relatively quick. Soon after surgery, most patients:

  • Notice better and more clear vision almost instantly, with increased improvement over weeks
  • Shower or bathe the day after surgery, taking care to avoid getting soap or water in the eye
  • Are ready to drive, based on your post-op visit to our team.
  • Return to work within a day or two
  • Resume wearing makeup approximately one week after the procedure, it is however recommended to throw away your old make up and purchase new makeup to avoid infection.
  • Resume exercise within a few days
