Activist Lab

Katie Lesser, MPH, CPH
I am currently the Student Services Assistant for the Cornell Public Health Program, and I am also an Advocacy Lead for NY State for the United Nations Foundation's Shot@Life Campaign. The Activist Lab helped me further hone my advocacy skills and helped me prepare for tabling and educating at events. A lot of what I do in my position at Cornell is talking to prospective students about pursuing a public health degree, and spend a lot of time tabling and speaking at events and information sessions in our area and around the country. When students arrive at Cornell, I help them through their degree and provide opportunities for advocacy while they're here. I involve them in the Shot@Life campaign activities and provide guidance and real-world experience for students to participate in grassroots advocacy and activism initiatives. I have also been invited multiple times to guest lecture in courses here at Cornell about advocacy and vaccine programs, where I mention the Activist Lab often and how it helped shape my public health and advocacy practice.
I continue to be eternally grateful for Dr. Liller and the Activist Lab and remember my time as an S-board member with absolute fondness. Thank you Dr. Liller for taking a chance on me in grad school!
