Dr. Umesh Jinwal’s lab research primarily focuses on chaperone proteins to better understand the molecular mechanism of the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), and other neurological disorders. Moreover, while uncovering the molecular mechanism, we intend to find novel drug targets and biomarkers. We use human cells, mouse cells, genetically engineered animal models, drug libraries, genetic and biochemical approaches. We are dedicated to finding new ways to treat and early diagnose diseases and train the next generation of researchers. We seek public and private donations via the USF website for scientific discoveries.
