Biography

Dr. Edwards has been on faculty in the Department of Medicine since 2004. He completed both medical school and his residency in internal medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He has held numerous leadership positions both at USF and Tampa General Hospital during this time on faculty. He was the founding director of the Division of Hospital Medicine at USF and served in this role from 2008 to 2018. He also served as Vice-Chairman of Clinical Operations for the department from 2012–2018. At Tampa General, Dr. Edwards was the founding Chief of the Section of Hospital Medicine (2009) and, among other duties, has served as Chief of the Division of Internal Medicine and Chief of Staff. Hobbies include playing guitar, reading, fishing, and spending time with his three children.
