Research Interests

  • My research focuses on the gut microbiome and brain health. In particular, I am working with probiotic bacteria (i.e. Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species) and developing probiotic fermented foods, such as yogurt and butter, to study the effects of the microbiome and dietary supplements on aging and AD pathology. My research implicates gut-brain mechanisms and their influence on unhealthy aging phenotypes using in vitro and in vivo models.
