Financial Support & Benefits for Morsani College of Medicine PhD Students
MCOM PhD Financial Benefits
Students admitted into the Medical Sciences PhD program will be offered a Graduate Research Assistantship, supported primarily from research grants held by individual faculty members. With this Assistantship, students receive:
- $37,000 annual stipend
- 100% tuition waiver*
- Medical insurance contribution
- Consideration for travel awards

The University of South Florida’s Medical Sciences PhD program is an integrated umbrella program that eliminates traditional barriers between disciplines and provides students with a comprehensive foundation in the biomedical sciences.
Faculty
Our talented faculty are primarily drawn from departments in the Morsani College of Medicine, including Molecular Medicine, Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology, Neurosurgery & Brain Repair, Pathology & Cell Biology, Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences, Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. The Medical Sciences PhD Program is housed in USF Health on the north campus of the University of South Florida in Tampa. The 1,500 acre campus offers a wide variety of shops and services.
