Information for Prospective Postdoctoral Scholars (USF Health)

We are an administrative support office; we do not directly recruit or hire postdocs.

USF Health Postdoc Eligibility

An individual must hold a doctorate or foreign equivalent. Both professional doctorates (MD, PharmD, etc.) and research doctorates (PhD, ScD, etc.) qualify.

  • Verification of degree is required.
    • Candidates with US degrees must provide official transcripts that state the degree conferral date.
    • Candidates with non-US degrees must provide official proof of degree equivalency. Foreign degrees must be evaluated by an agency certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) to establish equivalency to a U.S. degree.
  • Postdocs should have received their doctoral degree no more than 5 years prior to hire.*
  • Appointments must not extend beyond five years in this category, including previous non-USF postdoctoral appointments.*
  • Health Funding Plan form will be required.

*Extenuating circumstances must be presented to the Associate Dean of Office of Graduate & Postdoctoral Affairs for review and approval.
