USF TGH Family Medicine Residency Program

Curriculum

Rotation Schedule 2024-2025

PGY 1 Year:

Continuity experiences:

  • 1-2 half days per week on average in continuity clinic
  • Intern Learning and support during academic Wednesday afternoons

12 weeks:

  •  Adult Inpatient Days

4 weeks each:

  • Newborn
  • Pediatric Inpatient Pediatric Outpatient
  • Labor & Delivery Days
  • Labor & Delivery Nights
  • Adult Inpatient Nights (broken into two 2-week blocks)
  • Community Health
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit
  • Surgery

PGY 2 Year:

Continuity experiences:

  • At least 2 half days per week on average in continuity clinic
  • Wednesday afternoon conference

8 weeks each:

  • Adult Inpatient Days
  • Adult Inpatient Nights
  • Elective

4 weeks each:

  • Gynecology
  • Quality Improvement and Behavioral Health
  • Geriatrics and Vulnerable Populations
  • Community Health
  • Pediatric Inpatient
  • Emergency Medicine

PGY 3 Year:

Continuity experiences:

  • At least 2 half days per week on average in continuity clinic
  • Wednesday conference

16 weeks:

  • Electives

8 weeks each:

  • Community Health
  • Adult Inpatient Days

4 weeks each:

  • Sports Medicine
  • Quality Improvement and Behavioral Health
  • Pediatric Outpatient
  • Emergency Medicine

Vacation

Residents can take up to 20 vacation days year. 

Continuity

Residents will be responsible for weekly time in their continuity clinic throughout PGY 1, 2, 3, except during time night coverage months
