At USF Health, our highly specialized cardiothoracic (CT) and transplantation surgical team works closely with other specialists, including vascular, oncology, pulmonology, radiation oncology and other specialties, providing you a strong health care team with expertise in the most complex thoracic and cardiac conditions. Cardiothoracic conditions are complex and involve the organs of the chest, the trachea, and the chest wall.

 

We offer a full complement of cardiac services for acquired heart disease, congenital heart disease and transplantation. We offer minimally invasive, mitral valve surgery, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), a minimally invasive procedure to replace a narrowed aortic valve. Our team also leads Tampa General Hospital’s heart and lung transplant programs, which draws on the resources of this world-class hospital and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine to offer the most advanced treatments. TGH, located close to downtown Tampa is one of the busiest centers for heart and lung disease across the world.

Referrals for cardiac services can be made to individual USF Health physicians, or may be channeled through the general information and referral service of the division office. Referrals for transplantation are made through the transplant programs listed.
