USF Health surgeons are recognized leaders across a wide range of specialties, from acute care to Cardiothoracic Surgery, and from Hepatobiliary Oncology to Advanced Robotics and Transplant. We have led groundbreaking clinical innovations, including first-in-state procedures and nationally recognized care models, such as our hybrid coronary revascularization and limb preservation programs. We are proud to be home to Florida’s only comprehensive hybrid robotic-assisted coronary and liver transplant center, and the most experienced site for robotic esophageal and bariatric surgery in the state.
The surgical team at USF Health is dedicated to advancing biomedical knowledge, cutting-edge technologies, and new therapeutic breakthroughs. Our surgeons are heavily engaged in research that is taking scientific discoveries from the bench to the bedside and on to the greater population, with a constant focus on the evaluation of efficacy, efficiency and desire to remove barriers and disparities.
Our board-certified physicians, in collaboration with other specialists, determine the best surgical approach for each patient to provide the best health outcome. USF Health surgeons provide a range of expertise in many local hospitals – primarily Tampa General Hospital, in addition to the James Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa and Bay Pines VA Hospital in the St. Petersburg area.
