Today, and for the past 25 years, the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and Tampa General Hospital have partnered in a joint initiative that directs the Level I Trauma Center at TGH. This state-of-the-art, highly coordinated facility cares for emergency patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an in-house board certified trauma surgeon who is always ready to lead a team of highly trained specialists.
Our Trauma Center provides comprehensive, integrated care designed to respond to the critical health care needs of our community, across the Tampa Bay region, treating 3,000 critical cases annually.
Awarded the Level I designation by the Florida Department of Health, TGH’s Trauma Center has earned its reputation for quality patient care, educational enrichment of health care professionals at multiple levels, and trauma related medical research.
