Social Marketing at USF facilitates the transfer of prevention knowledge to clinicians and other medical, nursing, public health, allied health, and other health care, health services, health planning, and health education practitioners.

  • The Social Marketing in Public Health Training workshops are tailored to the needs of participants. The workshops have been given to staff of numerous international, national organizations and local health departments. Topics include but not limited to:

    • Overview of Social Marketing Approach and Its Application (Time: 2 to 3 hour presentation)
    • The Marketing Mindset and Basic Social Marketing Skills Workshop (Time: 1 to 2 days)
    • Technical Assistance with Initial Planning and Formative Research (Time: 1.5 to 2 days depending on size of audience)
    • Facilitation of Strategy Development Sessions (Time: 2-3 days)
    • Social Marketing Program Evaluation (Time: 0.5 to 1.5 days)
    • Ongoing Technical Assistance

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for Social Marketing and Social Change to Address Non-Communicable Diseases addresses the growing problem with non-communicable diseases by capitalizing on the strengths of social marketing coupled with social change strategies. The center focuses its activities around three pillars: Training, Technical Assistance, Capacity Building and Knowledge Exchange.

  • Virtual five-course curriculum, hosted on Pan Atlantic Health Organization’s virtual campus, spans the gamut on all things social marketing—including how to approach disease prevention and health promotion, using the power of social marketing to encourage behavior change, and ways to put it all to action.

  • The Social Marketing in Transportation training program is offered to transportation professionals or others who wish to develop the skills needed to develop, implement, and evaluate social marketing programs. The program emphasizes the translation of theory and knowledge into evidence-based practice. certificate program.

  • Located on America’s best beach in Clearwater, Florida, the Social Marketing Conference offers a blend of presentations by internationally recognized social marketing experts on topics of interest to learners at all levels. The Training Academy, which uses an entertaining mixture of live case studies and interactive group exercises, helps you understand how to increase the impact of social service offerings or health promotion campaigns. Finally, concurrent sessions, both invited and selected from responses to the ‘Call for Abstracts’, culminates in a fun, engaging and enlightening experience.
