Biography
Jen Winston currently serves as an Instructor I in the University of South Florida’s College of Public Health undergraduate studies program. In this role, Jen teaches three to four classes per semester, contributing to the educational advancement of public health students. Additionally, her responsibilities include assisting with curriculum review and revision, collaborating with other instructors to present and publish health-related pedagogical research, and actively participating in college-, university-, and community-wide service opportunities to ensure the next generation of public health professionals are equipped with the skills necessary to prevent disease and promote health. With over eight years of research and evaluation experience, Jen is also skilled in quantitative and qualitative data methodologies, written and oral communication, and project management. This can be shown through her involvement in a variety of grants ranging from applying an asset-based approach to child development, to delving into community-based behavioral health systems. Her research interests include mental health and well-being, adolescent health, and family resilience. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Florida State University and a Master of Public Health in Public Health Education from the University of South Florida. She also holds a graduate certificate in Translational Research in Adolescent Behavioral Health, which aims to bridge the gap between research and practice through implementation science.
