Our research interest lies in the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and neurological disorders with a focus on laminin, a major component of the basal lamina/basement membrane. Specifically, we study:

1. How laminin maintains BBB integrity under both physiological and pathological conditions.
2. How laminin affects the pathogenesis of stroke and Alzheimer’s disease.

We have generated a series of laminin conditional knockout and knock-in mouse lines. By using these genetic tools and other techniques, we aim to develop innovative and effective therapies for various neurological disorders.
