Education Overview
The cornerstone of the training programs within the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine department of Surgery are the high clinical volume that stretches across the surgical specialties of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Trauma. Our fellows and residents (surgeons in training) are proficient in the tenants of robotics, minimally invasive, and open surgery. The mission of our department is to both train a well-rounded surgeon, while also cultivating the surgical leaders of tomorrow.
Our programs are built on the backbone of mentorships and relationships formed that will last not just a career, but a lifetime. General Surgery Residency
The goal of the residency program is to produce a well-rounded, competent general surgeon, fully trained in the principles and techniques required of a general surgeon.

Our program is committed to providing a comprehensive educational experience in all aspects of vascular disease, and cultivating an inclusive training environment.
