Message from the Director
Welcome to the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine Division of Colorectal Surgery. As part of the Morsani College of Medicine, our division is charged with the medical education of students, residents, fellows and other medical staff. Our Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship is accredited for two yearly positions by the ACGME.
In addition, opportunities are available for elective rotations by medical students in their 4th year (from both USF and other institutions) as well as residents and other advanced trainees (nationally and internationally) seeking additional clinical instruction or research experience.

About our Division
The Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of South Florida specializes in the diagnosis and management of surgical diseases of the intestines, colon, rectum and anus. Our faculty surgeons are certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and are leaders in their field both in our community and beyond. We strive to provide comprehensive surgical care for our patients, from those with the most common disorders such as hemorrhoids, to the most complex conditions including cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
Our team leads West-Central Florida in the most advanced and cutting edge treatments that reduce morbidity and improve patient outcomes. From sophisticated endoscopic procedures, that can avoid unnecessary surgery, to advanced minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopy and robotics, USF is recognized as a leader in Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Research
We are committed to practice of ethical clinical research and are proud to offer the newest treatments and techniques for the management of colorectal disorders. Our robust research activities are supported by a dedicated full-time staff who ensure regulatory compliance and excellent patient care. We routinely present and publish original research findings that advance the field of surgery. Although our research interests span the discipline of Surgery, our focus includes advancements in minimally invasive surgery and endoscopic techniques, new treatment modalities and paradigms for colorectal cancers, and innovative therapies for anorectal conditions.
