Biography

Dr. Marie Bourgeois is a Research Assistant Professor at the College of Public Health. She holds an undergraduate degree in clinical chemistry and Masters and Doctorate degrees in Toxicology and Risk Assessment from the University of South Florida College of Public Health. Dr. Bourgeois joined the faculty at the University of South Florida College of Public Health in 2010 and teaches undergraduate courses related to environmental, occupational, and public health. Dr. Bourgeois has published and presented research on a variety of topics related to the effect of gender and other factors on the urinary expression of biomarkers of inflammation, renal failure, oxidative stress, and cardiac dysfunction. Current research activities also include the effect of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibition on chemical induced toxicity.
