I am a social and behavioral scientist, interventionist and implementation scientist whose work has largely focused on HIV prevention and improving care and treatment among people with HIV over the last 25 years. I have studied medication adherence, HIV disclosure and stigma, risk reduction, a smoking cessation among people with HIV. I pioneered group-based video-conferencing as a means of expanding access to social and behavioral care for people with HIV and continue to study the benefits and costs, facilitators and barriers associated with implementation of telehealth and mhealth, especially in relation to health equity. Systematically my work is continuously informed by the mental health challenges that affect well-being. Additionally, my work has employed mixed methodologies and implementation science related to breastfeeding, and especially breastfeeding friendly childcare.
