Employee Benefits
From the first day of employment, a full range of employee benefits are offered to University of South Florida residents. They include 15 vacation days and 9 sick days per academic year. Health, disability and life insurance are all provided at no cost to the resident. Health insurance coverage is provided at a minimal cost for the resident’s spouse and/or children. Professional liability protection is provided through the University of South Florida Health Sciences Center Self Insurance program. All residents are provided legal defense during the course of their training, as well as afterward, for alleged acts or omissions occurring during and within the scope of their educational program.
A Resident Assistance Program is provided to all residents as a benefit of their employment. Services include rehabilitation, alcohol and drug abuse, grief and loss, financial and other counseling.
