The USF Department of Plastic Surgery offers a one-week elective in International Cleft Care for senior level USF Plastic Surgery Residents in collaboration with the University of Panama and Operation Smile Panama.
The Operation Smile Panama mission trips occur on a Semi-Annual basis and are led by U.S Trained and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Luis Crespo, M.D.. This elective rotation seeks to augment our resident's exposure and confidence in dealing with cleft patients and allows our residents to experience international medicine.
Operation Smile incorporates its Global Standards of Care to ensure safe surgery and provide first world quality care to patients in developing nations.
