Many published studies,  doctoral dissertations and  master’s theses have evaluated different aspects of the HOT DOCS program.  In addition, the program is constantly engaged in program evaluation efforts as required by their funding agency, the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, to provide quarterly evaluation data including demographics of those served, pre-post test data, satisfaction measures, and evidence for reduction of child behavior problems and caregiver stress. HOT DOCS uses standardized and validated measures like the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory (ECBI), the Therapy Attitude Inventory (TAI) and the DOCS Parenting Stress Measure. Key findings have included decreases in child disruptive behavior and in caregiver stress,  increases in parent competency and improvements in child adaptive functioning, as well as high treatment satisfaction among caregivers.
