Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship
Overview
Interventional Pulmonology
Interventional pulmonology is an expanding specialty within pulmonary and critical care medicine, specializing in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for diseases of the central airways, lung parenchyma, and pleura. The USF Health Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship, established in 2022 with initial AABIP/AIPPD accreditation, achieved ACGME accreditation in 2024.
This fellowship immerses trainees in a comprehensive learning environment, exposing them to a distinct group of diseases and equipping them with both medical and procedural management skills. Upon completing the 12-month program, fellows will excel in diagnosing and treating airway and pleural conditions, be prepared for independent practice, and qualify for the interventional pulmonology board examination.
