Robotic Procedures

At USF Health, our urology specialists have the advanced training required to use today’s most innovative robotic technology. By replicating a surgeon’s hand movements in real time, robotic surgery allows our skilled surgeons a more precise tool for helping patients with prostate cancer, renal masses, and bladder cancer.

Our surgeons are trained to perform:

  • Robotic radical prostatectomy
  • Robotic partial nephrectomy
  • Robotic radical cystectomy
  • Robotic nephrectomy
  • Robotic pyeloplasty
  • Robotic ureteral reconstruction

What to Expect

Robotic surgery can offer you a minimally invasive option for treating your condition, which means reduced blood loss, scarring, and pain.

Patients who have a robotic procedure for urological cancers recover quicker, are able to walk within hours after their procedure, and typically stay only one night in the hospital.

Patients can usually return to work in two to four weeks after surgery and can return to their normal physical activities within a month.
