International Visitors and Scholars
Advancing Health Knowledge Worldwide
Hosted by the Office of Global Partnerships and Engagement at the USF College of Nursing, this program provides academic enrichment for international visitors, health professionals, and scholars. Participants will engage in research immersion and skill development while exploring a variety of clinical and non-clinical specialties.
Opportunities Offered
- Tailored Research Projects: Engage with USF faculty on focused nursing-related initiatives
- Biobehavioral lab
- Clinical Observation: Potential placements at Tampa General Hospital for DNP, PhD, and postdoctoral scholars
Important Note: This program is non-credit and does not confer a degree. All applicants are required to provide proof of English proficiency.

The USF College of Nursing is a global leader in nursing, advancing innovation in research and education. We can partner with you to:
- Develop competent and experienced nurses in their chosen area of sub-specialization with academic and clinical team mentoring
- Oncology
- Prepare Advanced Practice Nurses with expert guidance
- Plan and conduct conferences, symposia, workshops, and other educational experiences on topics such as:
- Writing for publication
- Behavioral Intervention course
- Implementation science methods course
- Advanced Research
The USF College of Nursing maintains active international collaborations with universities across South America, Europe, and the Caribbean. We provide consultation to nursing schools worldwide to support the development of graduate programs, strengthen instructional offerings, and build or enhance research infrastructure and capacity.

DNP and PhD students have opportunities to participate in international experiences tailored to their area of study. These experiences allow students to engage with global health initiatives, conduct research, and gain unique perspectives relevant to their scholarly work.
Students are encouraged to discuss potential opportunities and plan their international experiences in collaboration with their project chair or academic advisor.
Caribbean
These institutions include the University of the West Indies- Mona and the University Hospital of the West Indies.
Europe
These universities include the University of Chester and the University of Exeter in England, the University of Stirling in Scotland, and Kore University and the University of Catania in Sicily.
Africa
These partnerships include CHAMPS Sierra Leone and the Postgraduate College of Nursing and Midwifery in Sierra Leone.
