All residents and fellows participate in longitudinal research projects during their training, with funded opportunities to present at local, regional, and national meetings.  Integrated residents participate in a VA-funded research year between their second and third years. 

Research projects include outcomes based studies utilizing institutional and national datasets. The research year offers opportunities to collaborate with investigators from other disciplines as well as didactic sessions related to the fundamentals of statistics, study design, and database management.
