Biography

Dr. C. Wayne Cruse is a plastic surgeon and Professor of Plastic Surgery and Professor of Oncologic Sciences at the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. He is the Juan C. Bolivar Endowed Chair in Surgical Oncology at the University. He is a Senior Member of the Department of Cutaneous Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. His clinical and research interests include cutaneous oncology, melanoma, Merkel cell cancer, basal cell cancer, squamous cell cancer, sarcoma, cancer reconstruction, wounds, and burn care. Dr. Cruse received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Surgery at the University of South Florida and then a residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Kentucky. He is certified by and a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Cruse has been affiliated with Moffitt since 1986. He was Medical Director of the Tampa General Hospital Burn Center for 25 years. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Society of Surgical Oncology. He has been a speaker at numerous medical conferences and has multiple publications.
