The Annual Masters' Course in Skull Base Surgery and Microvascular Anastomosis is designed for senior neurosurgery and otolaryngology residents and fellows interested in complex cranial and skull base surgery. Participants will perform various skull base approaches including some of the most difficult and rare complex cranial and skull base procedures. The educational format is a combination of didactic and cadaveric simulation. Lectures are presented by neurosurgery and otolaryngology symposium facility, as well as esteemed guest speakers.

New this year, we have restructured the course so that it is now a full three days, extending the microvascular anastomosis portion from a half-day to a full-day. This decision was based on overwhelming feedback from participants in recent years, and a desire to maximize the resources we are pulling together. Similar to prior years, the other two days of the course will focus on endoscopic and open cadaveric dissection and faculty lectures, highlighting the various nuances and challenges with skull base surgery.

This course is open to a total of twenty participants around the country: 10 neurosurgery trainees and 10 ENT trainees. Participants are selected based on nominations from Program Directors and faculty members.
