Spine Division & The Cahill Spine Institute
The Spine Division and The Cahill Spine Institute at the USF Health Department of Neurosurgery and Brain Repair institute utilize the most advanced techniques to correct surgical disorders of the spine and spinal cord.
Our team of highly skilled surgeons uses both traditional (open) and less disruptive surgical options (Minimally invasive) to address the full spectrum of spine problems. Our comprehensive approach to spine care includes the benefit of group conferences to determine ideal strategies specific to each patient.
Cathy was involved in a hit and run accident that left her with a complex T7-8 fracture, spinal cord compression and kyphotic deformity. She was faced with the possibility of being paralyzed. Fortunately, thanks to Dr. Puya Alikhani, USF Health Neurosurgeon, and his team, Cathy can continue flying planes, skydiving and running marathons.
The collaborative effort of physicians, nurses, and specialists in rehabilitation and pain management ensure the best in patient care.
