Observer Program
About the Program
We are excited to offer this unique opportunity for individuals interested in observing our expert neurosurgical team in action. Please note that participation is subject to availability, which may vary depending on the time of year, the number of existing requests, and other factors.
Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Observer Program (non-physician)
Program Details
- Observation periods are limited to a maximum of 30 days per application. You may reapply for additional 30-day periods as needed, but availability is not guaranteed.
- Observers are permitted to have only one supervisor per shadowing period. Multiple applications for different providers during the same observation period are not allowed.
- Observers must provide a valid photo ID and proof of COVID-19 vaccination (or a completed religious exemption form).
- Approval is required before beginning your observation period. Once approved, you will coordinate your schedule directly with your assigned supervisor.

- Please complete all pages of the forms except Page 2.
- Submit Your Application
- Email your completed forms to christianjenkins@usf.edu.
- Include a scanned copy of your photo ID and proof of COVID-19 vaccination or the completed religious exemption form.
- Await Approval
- Once your application is reviewed, you will receive an email regarding your approval status.
- Upon approval, coordinate specific dates, times, and meeting locations directly with your assigned supervisor.

If you are a medical physician interested in shadowing one of our physicians, you must first obtain written approval via email from the physician you wish to observe prior to submitting an application.
