USF is an amazing place to train with the available clinical sites, high acuity, and overall high volume. I also found community and belonging with the neurology residents here.

Favorite part of neurology?

The physical exam! The ability to localize and diagnose from the stories we acquire and what we can see/touch never ceases to amaze me.

Fun fact about you or your favorite hobbies?

My hobbies include video games, lifting, running, and grappling!

From the moment I started medical school at USF, I felt at home. Tampa has always been a place where I can see myself building both my career and my life. I’m honored to work alongside incredibly supportive faculty, residents, and friends who have challenged me, mentored me, and will help me become the neurologist I aspire to be.

Favorite part of neurology?

Neuroimmunology is my favorite area of neurology because it combines the diagnostic complexity that initially drew me to the field with the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients.

I’m a Yelp Elite! I love trying new restaurants around Tampa and supporting local businesses. Always feel free to ask me for food recs!

I had the great privilege of going to USF for medical school and so I had first hand experience with USF before I began residency. There are countless things I like about USF, but here are a few. I love that we are a safety net hospital and provide care to everyone regardless of ability to pay. I love the great diversity of patients we see. We see everything from medically complex cases who have been referred to us from community providers as well as the bread and butter cases. We have a large volume of patients which makes USF a great place to train at and become an excellent physician. I love how through USF's partnerships with other institutions such as Johns Hopkins All Children Hospital, Tampa General Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, and VA, we learn how to become very flexible physicians who can easily work at any institution or setting regardless of what type of EMR or institutional variations they have. I love how USF provides plenty of opportunities for research as well as dedicated staff that can support you with research projects. I love how USF physicians are not only great clinicians and providers, but also great educators from whom I can constantly learn clinical pearls. But most importantly, what I love the most about the USF is the culture. Regardless of the rotation, the residents, attendings, APPs, and other team members always made me feel as if I was a member of one big happy family where all members worked together hand in hand toward the common goal of providing the best care possible to our patients. I am proud to be a member of such a family.

My favorite part of Neurology is that it is a rapidly evolving field where constant discoveries and innovations provide endless opportunities for lifelong learning and research.

Fun fact about you or your favorite hobbies: 

My hobbies include watching movies (old and new), exploring different cuisines and restaurants, reading books, learning Spanish, working out, and hanging out with friends.

Why USF?

I wanted to be able to learn and grow in an academic program close to home. Being from South Florida originally, USF was the perfect choice! I also love the culture here, it’s a very warm and welcoming group.

I love all things beach!

Why USF?

It completely came down to the people! I loved the residents and faculty I met during interviews. Plus, coming from Kentucky, the change of scenery is a huge bonus!

Favorite part of neurology?

I love neurology because it focuses on how we interact with the world around us. Whether managing strokes, epilepsy, headaches, or movement and cognitive disorders, it is so rewarding to help patients regain their quality of life.

Fun fact about you or your favorite hobbies?

I'm always looking for the next great local coffee shop, and I love traveling, going on runs along the water, and dancing!

I went to USF medical school, and I loved my experience! Everyone is so friendly, the location is amazing, and the hospitals are excellent!

Favorite part of neurology?

I love working with my patients, and I’m fascinated by the nervous system! I had a stroke when I was younger, and now I have the opportunity to care for people in a similar situation.

I fostered and adopted a kitten named Baba, and I plan to foster more kittens!

Why USF?

I'm really happy to be here at USF because everyone I met was genuinely welcoming and supportive. I'm getting to train in a strong program with a diverse patient population and exposure to a wide variety of pathology, and I've also been having a lot of fun getting to know Tampa outside of the hospital!

Favorite part of neurology?

I like that neurology is always keeping me thinking. I really enjoy working through the cases, and with every patient there is always something new to learn, which is one of the things I enjoy the most about the field.

I love to read, try new coffee shops, or just spend quality time with friends and family.

I chose USF because of its outstanding clinical training, the opportunity to learn from incredible faculty, and the genuinely supportive culture. I’m also excited to be back in Tampa!

My favorite part of neurology is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives, especially since there are so many challenging and life-changing diagnoses in the field.

I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, and hosting game nights with friends!
