Dr Tara M. Randis is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Molecular Medicine at the University of South Florida, Chief of the Division of Neonatology, and Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Pediatrics. She completed her residency training at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, before pursing her fellowship training in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Columbia University. In 2011, she earned a MS degree in biostatistics from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Her research efforts have focused on the mechanisms of bacterial colonization of the female reproductive tract as it relates to adverse pregnancy outcomes including intraamniotic infection, preterm labor and neonatal sepsis. Her laboratory is currently investigating novel strategies for prevention of Group B Streptococcal disease in the vulnerable neonatal host.
