Academic Philosophy

"As a teacher, you can’t just “lecture”, but need to “engage” the learner to be included in the knowledge and skill acquisition process. I weave case scenarios/active learning into my classes encouraging student participation and discussion."

Research Interests

  • Dr. Klein's research interests and publications are in the areas of:
  • Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: Over the past 6 years, we have focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning here at the University of South Florida. Additionally, she has presented in the area of musculoskeletal imaging. She has disseminated 23 scholarly products through publications and national presentations.
  • Examination and Management of Dancers with Musculoskeletal Dysfunction: An additional area that she contributed to science has been the investigation of musculoskeletal dysfunction in dancers and the impact of ballet positions on risk of injury. Through her collaborations, she has had presentations at the local, regional, national, and international levels. This was an early research interest.
  • Measurement of Isometric Trunk Strength in Low Back Pain: This was an area of focus early in her academic career.
