SWFCCC Workgroups

Southwest Florida Cancer Control Collaborative Workgroups meet 1-2 times every trimester. Our aims are to:

  • Educate and raise awareness through community-led activities, training, workshops, webinars.
  • Advocate to reduce the burden of the cancer in Florida.
  • Research and provide evidence on best practices to guide advocacy and education on specific cancer-related topics.
  • Provide strategic leadership, advice, support and assistance in the development and implementation of cancer-related initiatives.

The SWFCCC has two workgroups:

Treating Tobacco Dependence in Cancer Care Settings Workgroup

The Treating Tobacco Dependence in Cancer Care Settings Workgroup collaborates with cancer centers to integrate tobacco dependence treatments through readiness assessments, provider training, and the implementation of tobacco cessation practices into clinical workflows.

The HPV & Cervical Cancer Workgroup focused on education, prevention and treatment of HPV infection and cervical cancer.
