DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Faculty
The DAISY Award™ for Extraordinary Nurse Faculty, presented by The DAISY Foundation in collaboration with the USF College of Nursing, was created to recognize and celebrate the impact nursing faculty have made on the nursing profession and patient outcomes. It is our sincere hope that the award will provide the same level of meaningful recognition and job satisfaction to nursing faculty as it has historically provided to our clinical nurses and will help sustain the commitment to teaching future generations of nurses.
Nursing Faculty members are nominated quarterly by students and alumni. The names of all the faculty and excerpts of their nomination letters will be shared quarterly. Each year, one of those faculty nominated will be selected from the past year’s nominations and named The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Faculty. Faculty are eligible to be selected as the honoree once every four years but may be nominated as frequently as desired.
We hope you will consider honoring a faculty member who has impacted your career and exhibited extraordinary teaching skills, leadership and commitment or a faculty member who instills strong patient care and compassion in their students.
In your nomination, please include a specific story of how the faculty member’s compassion supported a learning moment that was significant to you. Please use as much detail as possible to help us understand the impact they’ve made on your career.
