DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Faculty


The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators was created to recognize and celebrate the contributions nurse educators (faculty, clinical educators, simulation educators, and professional development educators) make to the future of nursing.

In collaboration with the USF College of Nursing, it is our sincere hope that this award provides meaningful recognition to trailblazing nurse educators. Nominations are open to undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. 

DAISY Extraordinary Nurse Educators must meet all the following criteria: 

• Serves as a role model and mentor for professional nursing.

• Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and nursing that inspires and motivates students.

• Demonstrates interest in and respect for learners.• Uses personal attributes (e.g. caring, confidence, patience, integrity and flexibility) that facilitate professional growth.

• Is fair and unbiased in his/her treatment of individual students.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Develops collaborative working relationships with students and colleagues. 

 

In your nomination, please be ready to include a specific story of how a nurse educator's compassion supported a learning moment that was significant to you. Use as much detail as possible to help us understand the impact they've made on your career.

The USF College of Nursing will announce the winners of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators in the Spring semester in coordination the college-wide annual event, Spring Fling.
