Within the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences, there are six independent training programs that work in concert with each other for the betterment of patient care, research, and education for all fellows and all Internal Medicine Program residents.

The mission of our USF Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Training Program is to develop highly competent practitioners with a commitment to lifelong learning. We accomplish this through the creation of a scholarly environment and training in a wide range of procedures involving coronary interventions, complex and contemporary, with participation in peripheral vascular interventions, exposure to structural heart disease and therapies.
The mission of our USF Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program is to produce clinically competent and compassionate electrophysiology specialists to deliver sub-specialty care for the full spectrum of clinical cardiac electrophysiology diseases in the major metropolitan area. We prepare graduates for clinical or academic practice through the creation of a scholarly environment that fosters excellence in the lifelong goals of education.
The Mission of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship Training Program is to:
Train ABIM board-eligible or board-certified physicians to become clinician-scientists and leaders in the field of heart failure,
Provide extensive training in all aspects of heart failure, including medical and device therapy, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.
Ensure program graduates are capable of competent and independent clinical practice as outlined by the ACGME Program Requirements for Residency Education in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American College of Cardiology.
The Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship Training Program consists of a 12-month training program comprised of clinical exposure, didactic teaching, and research opportunities. Instruction will be performed under the direction of expert faculty during the performance and interpretation of cardiovascular imaging studies.
Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship Training Program's two primary goals are:
To train board certified or board eligible cardiologists to independently run or develop a state-of-the-art, clinical cardiac imaging service and to conduct independent cardiac imaging research.
To provide for the training and education in all technical and clinical aspects of cardiovascular patient-centric CT, MRI, PET/CT and echocardiography to achieve level three core competency in these modalities.
The USF Cardiology-Oncology Fellowship Training Program is a 12-month training program comprised of clinical exposure, didactic teaching and clinical and/or basic science research. Instruction will be performed under the direction of expert faculty primarily based at Moffitt Cancer Center. The curriculum is designed so that upon completion of the fellowship, trainees will be prepared to develop and lead a cardio-oncology program.
